George presents a point of view I've heard from other owners and GM's. He's not alone in his point of view and he doesn't owe anyone an apology. This is a place for discussing issues related to EAS and financial concerns are a relevant issue. We shouldn't just gloss over the economic problems by saying an owner should know better and just accept the fact that broadcasting is expensive. Remember the answer to the original question--the definition of "immediately"--will be expensive for users of one particular product. But it won't end there. Manufacturers will not be able to continue providing free upgrades for new FCC requirements and there are plenty more of those in the future. We are all in the same boat.
