[EAS] It's not rocket science...

Eric Adler asked: "Have all states even updated their published plan
documents since the recent swath of LPFMs came to exist?"
When I received a call last week from the FCC requesting the Nebraska
EAS plan I had to refer them to a necessarily modified plan from 2007
that our state is currently operating under.
I also stated that we currently had two different plans from 2010 and
2015 that had been submitted with no action.
After a pause on the line I went on to state that we were now waiting
for the State Plan Template to come out and would use that for our next
submission.
This template could really help the SECC's formulate plans acceptable to
the Commission. I hope it does just that.
Now, we wait to see whether we are going to have State Emergency
Communication Committees or State Emergency Coordination Councils or
Seemingly Everyone Creates Chaos trying to put a saddle on emergency
alerting and make it trot.
I REALLY want this EAS thing to work for all involved and try to do my
bit, but sometimes it is an uphill battle.
