[EAS] concerning the request for new weather Event Codes

Again, broadcasters and NWS have different missions.
It is not reasonable to expect the other guy's, or gal in this case to bow to your wishes. You both have different bosses.

If a broadcaster doesn't like that NWS keeps talking until the EAS box times out, or that the same area gets multiple warnings in rapid succession, they should opt out of weather, or at least some weather alerts.
On the other hand the broadcaster might reach out to the local NWS office and start a dialogue about what might work better for both involved. If you can get several stations involved in the discussion, it might work out better. If you're not careful it might lead to a local area plan.
I have used both methods to help keep interruptions (not the best choice of words) to minimum, without dropping NWS altogether.
