[EAS] concerning the request for new weather Event Codes

I like where this discussion is going. Maybe NWS should consider using the SPS event code (Special Weather Statement) for short-fused weather warnings that are appropriate wider area dissemination via broadcast by radio, TV, and cable. SPS is a code that doesn't seem to have any real use otherwise. That would allow broadcasters to filter other weather codes that have a tendency to be too geographically narrow.
