[EAS] Appendix A Discussion

Having now read Appendix A of the FCC NPRM that affects part 11 (EAS) rules, I noticed what appeared to be a discrepancy in the definitions section vs later text. This is not the only matter of which I take note, but it is the first. I will address that one item here and leave it for discussion and analysis by those who understand these things better than I.

The discrepancy comes from the section on EAS Designations § 11.18 (d)
It appears that the State Relay designation, SR is being changed to RS and simply designating a Relay Station (sans the word State.)
The definition of the RS is somewhat changed from that of an SR, but that is not my concern here.

If you move down to § 11.21	State and Local Area plans and FCC Mapbook, (a) (1) refers to a "State Relay (SR) stations);"

It may only be a housekeeping matter and it might be nit-picking on my part, but it caused me to wonder if this NPRM has not passed a sufficient level of proof-reading.

On the other hand, I might be totally out in left field to bring up such an insignificant matter given the scope of changes that we face. If that is the case, I am sure someone in this forum will come forward to show me the error of my ways. That being said, I think it is an appropriate subject for submitting to the FCC for comment.

That will be item #1 on my list.
