I believe it's considered a copyright violation. For example; you have purchased a Netflix account, so you are authorized to watch subscription programming from Netflix. If you give someone not authorized access to the content, it would be considered a violation of the Netflix agreement between the subscriber and Netflix to the studios, writers, and other stakeholders. Sort of like the old bootleg copy days, where you make a DVD copy and give it to your friend.
