I was in a network broadcast center when the blackout happened. The best info available was the aerial chopper shots showing where lights were on. There were some off grid apartment complexes as well as a portion of the market on the New England D Intertie on power from Quebec and not on the North Eastern grid. Only problem was that unless one was buying a gyro from a street vendor, very few could actually see those images.
