You are accurate in the need to assess details....all of them. There are
weak links in any system which could be devised, be it wired, space
delivered, terrestrial wireless, or some combination. So one has to weigh
the various pluses and minuses.

My comments if not clear related exclusively to the hardware side and not
the mere fact it's based on IP (TCP-IP/UDP) formatting. The issue is the
overall macro system's physical robustness and survivability outside of
the government's hardened system(s) and networks. It's those "commercial"
facilities which will be prone to failure. Specifically those areas which
I prior mentioned.
