I agree there is usually more than one way to do security.

I don't think the current method of requiring everyone to be an expert in 
configuring all their devices or even configures their devices correctly.
The reality is broadcast engineers aren't always experts in IT security, 
and IT security people aren't always experts in broadcast engineering.

If you have a better way to improve security, please lets here it.

But if everyone is satisfied with the status quo, ok.
