This morning, the S.1180 IPAWS amendment was voted to be reported up to the
full Senate for consideration. Still a long, long way to go.

The committee's agenda was dominated by two items - the Federal Permitting
Improvement Act and the Arizona Borderlands Protection and Preservation Act
(Sen McCain and the chair crossed swords a bit on that one).

With most of the time used up by the above items, there was no specific
discussion of the proposed IPAWS amendment. The chair simply moved to a
voice vote of block several proposed items, and off it went.

I am happy to announce that Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson is sponsoring an
IPAWS Bill. Similar legislation was introduced in the last two sessions of
Congress, but despite passage by the full House in 2013 and reintroduction
in the Senate in 2014, the Bill has yet to be passed by the end of each
session. We are hoping that this is "third time a charm". You can read
