The advice was also on the Harris Sage customer support site (now only
found in archive.org historical files). So it was somewhat understandable
why people may have thought it was an acceptable solution at the time.
Its good you have given current advice for Sage customers.
The odd thing about FEMA's advice, its my understanding that Uverse uses
a different EAS vendor. So the particular configuration parameters on
that (and other vendor's) equipment probably has different names and
settings. All vendors have lots of parameter settings that can result
in unwanted results when set incorrectly, e.g. CAP certificate checking,
default passwords, DNSSEC, etc.
Which brings it back to the original issues, interoperability and what
are the objectives of the executive sponsors?
