Stay on the box Clay there are others out there listening.
When we got a new County a while back EM, I contacted him to offer to answer questions about EAS from a broadcaster's perspective.
I left him with my contact info and that was that.
(I had also done this years earlier when NWS became a monitor source for EAS.)
A couple of years passed by and I got a call from the EM.
He was very much interested in building a local warning plan (we had none at the time).
He asked me to sit on the LECC that was eventually formed and help write the plan.
I was not a major player in the whole scheme of things, but did get the opportunity to bring the broadcast perspective to the table.
There were two or three other broadcast engineers involved as well.
A lot of really motivated people, much smarter than myself contributed to something that I think we can be proud of.
It does take work and a lot of thought to get this right, but it is doable.
The local plan is currently awaiting approval but several stations have already adopted some or all of what is in it.
Thanks for helping to keep the rest of us motivated Clay.
Dave
