And it's the same way here in Nevada. We don't do Live Code tests. However,
it might be a little different if we had the same kind of devastating
tornadoes that endanger lives and rearrange the landscape like those that
hit Illinois and Indiana. Our tornadoes are mild-mannered EF-0 and EF-1's
and certainly not worth the time and effort it takes to get an FCC waiver
for a hot code test.
California will exercise their Tsunami warning system with a Live Code EAS
test next month, I think, but that only involves the coastal counties. With
California counties in Nevada's Operating Area, I do have concerns that
someday a TSW test or activation will migrate into Nevada stations and cause
some listener/viewer confusion but so far, there have been no problems.
