It's about an disaster info app that FEMA put together in Spanish. Does not appear to relate to EAS or IPAWS, however.
I had posted cudos to DHS FEMA on this initiative, but my posts did not seem to have made it through the EAS remailer.
In any event, this is a good (and likely overdue) idea, with some 38 million Spanish-speaking Americans - around 25% of which do not speak English well or at all. As their release says "FEMA's Spanish-language app offers a wide array of information for the public and disaster survivors, including preparedness tips, locations of nearby shelters, what to include in an emergency supply kit and a user friendly interface for survivors who may need assistance from FEMA after a disaster."
See http://www.fema.gov/news-release/2014/08/18/fema-launches-spanish-language-app
What's next? Given the third largest U.S. non-English speaking community is Chinese (after Spanish), and given the sudden EAS activism of groups like "Asian Americans Advancing Justice," I wonder if FEMA will get some pressure for a Chinese and other Asian language app.
Starting to play with it on my smartphone, and I don't think it does not support geotargeting/location awareness. Probably not an app that can consume CAP or user targeted alerts. Still, a useful asset.

Are the 5 line long paragraphs were simply raw coding or the URL's for the various pages. 200+ seemingly random character URL's are simply distastes in and of themselves.
