[EAS] CAP EAS Logging Question

I Just Spoke to Trilithic.

Although their latest product supports filtering out those areas that 
are not relevant to a station's listening area, their older product does 
not.  Trilithic was non-commital on whether they would address this on 
their older model products. We happen to have one of those older models.

The reason my unit is logging all cap messages in California and Nevada 
is because the Atom feed sent by IPAWS is state specific only.  So there 
is no way for the CAP interface software to filter by county at that 
level.  I was told that if I received EAS messages from other counties 
over the air via standard broadcast and those counties were not selected 
in our EAS unit for monitoring, the unit still would log those 
messages.  Can't wait for the next five years.
