[EAS] CAP EAS Logging Question

The TFT EAS911 validates an incoming EAS message for proper EAS format, expired or duplicate, Originator, and Location. If the EAS911 is set for automatic forwarding, the message will be forwarded if programming criteria are met for the aforementioned items. A message with the Event code EAN is an exception. A valid received EAS message with the Event code EAN will be forwarded regardless of whether the Location parameter condition is satisfied.

If the EAS911 is set for manual forwarding, no message is forwarded until an operator takes an action to forward it. EAN is not an exception to the manual forwarding rule.

The TFT 3320 CAP-to-EAS converter will forward a properly formatted CAP message with the EAS Event code EAN, regardless of whether the Location code in the incoming message matches the Geocode filter.

I understand from Monroe that the decoders ignore the FIPS code when an EAN is decoded. Basically EAN = all FIPS.

If Monroe, and the other mnfr's, monitor this list maybe they can chime in?
