[EAS] Alternative Monitoring Assignment

We have been having a discussion on the Washington State EAS Remailer about
sources of EAN's.

 

The typical sources are the PEP station as well as the NPR affiliate that
has the NPR Squawk Channel connected to their EAS endec.    

 

What about using Sirius-XM has a monitoring source?    They run tests and
relay EAN's - Why should they not be used as a source of EAN's for those
that are remotely located and can't receive the normal two sources?

 

Any thoughts ?
