Interesting...Here in Nevada several casinos have signed onto the AMBER
Alert Plan and they add the information to the display rotation on their big
outdoor signs. Clear Channel Outdoor also displays the information on their
electronic billboards. Our Highway Patrol and some local agencies also have
portable electronic signs that can be set up on busy local roads with the
same messages. Even the rapid transit agencies carry the AMBER messages on
their electronic signs. The information is usually just what Dave described.
Several years ago an AMBER Alert suspect in a Las Vegas case was stopped and
arrested under a highway sign which displayed the AMBER Alert message. The
child was safely recovered and the TV and print media had a field day with
the visuals.

Yes!
Unless you are on the road, or the abductor is in your neighborhood, or you
are passing one of those big signs on the interstate, it is a message lost
on a lot of folks.
How about electronic billboards?
Couldn't they be rigged (required) to display EAS and or CMAS messages like
the highway signs do?
That would be one more "media" one could check and do so while driving, and
without fear of a ticket. (again your attention is now diverted away from
the road).
But there is no law that says you can't look at a billboard while driving.
Isn't that generally the intended audience anyway?
