We have some sad news to report.
Larry Estlack, one of the Broadcast Warning Group's Core Members, is now in a hospice. Aa many of you know Larry has compiled a truly distinguished career a professional broadcast engineer and has been a significant contributor to EAS improvements for a long time.
I posted the following on the Facebook page listed below on behalf of the BWWG today.
The Broadcast Warning Working Group (BWWG) asked Larry to join us in our work to improve the EAS after after Ann Arnold with Texas Broadcasters passed. Larry agreed and contributed until his health issues prevented it. Our thoughts and prayers are with Larry, his friends, colleagues and family in this time. Please let him know that we considered him to have been a leader in the effort to improve emergency public warnings for some time -- that 's why we asked him to help us. Right now, we offer our grateful thanks that Larry was a true professional broadcast engineer who not only did his job, but made an impressive and positive difference in the lives of those he touched, sand because of his EAS work, many who will never have had the pleasure to know him.
Please take a look at the growing number of messages to Larry on the site and contribute your own if you have a moment. I am sure that these messages will be relayed to him and will let him know our thoughts and prayers are with him.
Thanks,
Richard Rudman
