[EAS] email configuration for Gmail?

@Alex - You'll be hard pressed to find appliances that support MAPI, since it requires licensing the protocol from Microsoft, and most of these EAS boxes run on some sort of Linux, Unix, or VxWorks. That said, there should still be nothing stopping you from using your Exchange server as the mail transport. As long as your Exchange server is running SMTP (I've never managed an Exchange server that didn't run SMTP even with a anti-spam/security appliance in between it and the public Internet) and your EAS box is either on the same network, or can route to the Exchange server, there should be nothing stopping you from using your Exchange server as the mail server for CAP alerts.

Keep in mind that if your Exchange server requires SMTP authentication, you'll either have to create an Exchange mailbox for your EAS appliance, or configure a receive connector that allows the IP address of the EAS appliance to relay mail through your Exchange server. If you have multiple Exchange servers, this has to be configured on the server that holds the Hub Transport role.
