[EAS] Reporting form

I've heard essentially the same thing - that if a paper form is issued, it will require essentially the same information as the web form.

Also, I've been told that NAB (though I have not confirmed this) is concerned that if broadcasters do not use the on-line form, that the data won't actually be tabulated in a timely manner, and that might possibly reflect poorly on broadcasters as an 'alerting' medium of choice.

In any case, I have been able to confirm that translators and HD-multicast streams do not require a separate 'form' - so that takes me back down to 12 (actually 11 since I did one as a test).

In addition, as another engineer pointed out (I forget which list) the FM Query page does have a nice option for displaying a USGS map which has Lat/Lon coordinates in decimal form on the left side of the page which can be cut and pasted, avoiding going to the converter site which requires more data entry.

Also, our SECC group met this morning, and barring any major changes in the form, we agreed that we will simply put "VEM (SP)" in the field for our monitor source (Vermont Emergency Management is our SP). We figure if we all do it the same, eventually someone will be able to figure it out.

All in all, I guess is isn't all that bad - of course it would have been ideal if stations could have simply entered something like call or facility ID and have the form autopopulate from the data the FCC already has - and perhaps someday that might become a reality - but for now I'm moving on to other 'angsts'....
