[EAS] Cable TV Problems

As I have said before, and will probably say again,I think it will take FCC action on cable EAS standards pointing toward the next round of replacements for the installed base of cable head end and set-top converters. How likely is this action? I am not holding my breath.
However, now that knowledge of set-top box lock-ups is coming out, maybe those boxes will be targeted for replacement sooner?
Knowing there are some cable people on this list, I wonder if you thought the reaction of the cable association person on the FEMA webinar today was in order, or not. For those of you who were not tuned in, one cable association rep. took issue with the attention given today to cable system glitches for the national test.
