You missed part of my point..e.g., my example of Pittsburgh
NWS assuming everything worked OK by just watching local
cable when their NWS relay was not sending audio..
Once there is an internet transmission mode in place the
temptation is to use it exclusively for message traffic, to
the exclusion of the old daisy chain system, and, for that
matter, sources such as NWS radio.
The more "top down" the system becomes, the more impervious
to any input from broadcasters, especially on the radio
side. Voice is an obsolete means of communication, compared
with text messaging and cable TV crawls.
