Replying to Ed:

I am fairly certain that all I will ever see in West
Virginia in the near future is a CAP system run off the
internet. Been at least three days last year when I had to
go switch the internet feed to the local network from the
cable modem to the DSL modem because power was out in town.
Telco has batteries, we have a geni. Cable has no back-up
power.

Barry & Richard: We're focused on radio--but the TV folks
are only too well aware that the FCC would love to put them
out of business--so they can sell everything from channel 14
up to the wireless folks. Thereby getting more money for
Congress to waste & insuring a nice increase in the FCC
budget for next year. Or at least no drastic cuts.

Bottom line: Current FCC has no interest in broadcasting
except as a source of revenue. Current administration
watching Egypt, China, Venezuela where regimes are somewhat
successful in controlling information over the internet.
These regimes have little (Venezuela) or no worries about
broadcast media because they control it. Things would be so
much more pleasant in this county if there was only NPR and
PBS. (Just ask Commissioner Copps).
