[EAS] Activity at the FCC

Hmmmm!
What do y'all think will happen if the FCC allows this process to unfold without adding their certification to what FEMA is doing?
That six months does not allow a lot of time for FCC conformance testing that we have been asked for and truly believe is necessary.
Most of us believe that this testing is needed to make sure stand-alone CAP-EAS devices, those that will mate with existing EAS equipment, and any software-based CAP platforms conform to what the re-write of Part 11 will say.
Since the Part 11 rewrite NPRM has not yet hit the street, it will be interesting to see how all the devices that FEMA blesses in March can then be tested by the FCC to rules that have yet to be recast to take CAP into account in time for everyone to have assurance that what they buy will be not only FEMA certified, but FCC-certified.
