I've downloaded the program. Confusing POS. Haven't been
able to get the box and local network to play nice yet, so
that will be the first problem.  Probably will need to get
my ops mgr/IT guy over to this studio to play with it. 

As I posted in my first message, most small stations will be
unable to get these things working out of the box. As sent,
the box is useless. Granted, entering the local area (that
is, state and county or counties) is easy. But at that point
you have an FCC compliant brick. Will sit in the rack and do
nothing. 

The only event codes loaded are EAN and RMT.  Every other
event code has to be loaded in, priority and timing set.
This is asinine.  All these codes should be preloaded.  They
could be set to a default of "never send", but it's easier
to just go through and change the default than have to enter
every code.

I can fix things with wires, resistors, ic's etc., but have
no inclination to become a computer programmer at my age. So
I will get my "IT" guy ops mgr. to get the software working
but then I will need to explain to him what this is supposed
to do. 

We are far enough along in the computer age that there is no
excuse for shipping stuff that requires you open the fuel
petcock, set the spark, chock the wheels then spin the hand
crank.
