[BC] Headphone advice wanted

Two comments,
First is that it was not your place to implement dimming monitors unless directed to do so by management. Too many 'engineers' get themselves in hot water trying to run the whole station. That is not your job.
Second, I did have a manager who came up through programming and who was a musician prior to being in radio. He had implemented strict policies as national program director that became stricter when he became a manager. We did not dim monitors but had a full mix minus fed to them when the mic was one. They had everything but the studio mics. Wearing of headphones were grounds for termination. The studio was built for standup operation, no stools were allowed. We used Neumann mics and anyone who worked them closely enough to pop got in deep trouble and if they continued, they didn't work there.
For me it was easy since I was only implementing a mandate from the boss. That station and some of the on air staff won awards.
