At one point in time Jones was handing out in-line F style RF attenuators.
I throw one on if a receiver complains of too much RF.  I have a bunch
driven by the same active L-band splitter and only one complained of
excessive RF.  So the sensitivity/gain of the front end of these receivers
can vary quite a bit.

My point was that based on the troubleshooting advice of the Jones network
techs following their change to a digital Wegner RX, we replaced the dish
(interference from adjacent sats), long convoluted feed line (too much
loss), re-aimed, re-aimed, re-aimed, etc, etc only to find that the rx was
being over driven by even the original dish and line.
