 Prior to defense lawyers challenging the authority of the FCC to do
 exactly that, establishing a new "precedent" and such, that was a
 routine function of the FCC.

 That was all prior to their very significant V-chip and wardrobe
 malfunction functions, though.

 How many of us as very small children did fear the FCC, explicitly
 because they absolutely would confiscate equipment ?
 I guess you have to be over 50 to remember when government
 actually did *government* functions, and not mostly
 religious charity work.
