Be sure to get real fresh capacitors.  Old stock and "surplus" electrolytics are about as bad as the ones you're pulling out.  AND-  Try to get the 105C rated plus Low ESR ones.

> I think you'll find that the dbx units will start to exhibit odd problems like this well before you hear any hum that may come from baked filter caps.  Another symptom is strange gain reduction behavior.  All of this is still due to the filter caps, believe it or not.
