No so. That card is known for wandering latency under certain conditions which may or may not be part of his problem. It is better to embed at the SDI level. He may still need an audio delay but he can take the HDMI post conversion and plug it into a regular flat screen, make a homemade clapboard and align in real time and then plug the HDMI back into the PC. Problems should be solved.
