The cheap pot scrubbers sold at dollar stores, etc.--the kind that look like 
they're made of  ~1/32nd" wide  knitted metal ribbon--, embedded in foam or 
just packed into openings should be very effective in deterring rodents and 
blocking the ingress of reptiles. (These may also be used to help keep RF 
inside equipment cabinets.)
$ 10 should get you a bucketful of them..............
