I agree, its stunning.  How can you buy product from China for about the 
shipping cost for same?  I bought a green laser pointer for around $3 
including postage and it came with batteries no less!

I guess the cheap labor, stolen designs and low profit margins makes it 
possible.

BTW, those HT's are also FCC type accepted for commercial 2-way use if you 
program fixed frequencies into them and lock out the keyboard.
