It is that simple. I have always been of the opinion that a legitimate
agent of the FCC has the power of God over radio transmissions, and can kill
the power to any transmitter under any Rules parts on his authority (badge)
alone. The FCC doesn't need to get a 'show cause order' or any such
instrument to immediately cause the cessation of your transmissions. Of
course, he/she had better have a derned good reason for doing so, or
licensee's lawyers and Congressional Reps and Senators spring into action
and call the Commission on the carpet for disrupting their business
enterprise. If the FCC told me to kill the power to my 50KW rig, I would
damned well do so immediately, just like I would pull my car over to the
shoulder when I see the flashing red lights in my RVM. When the Law
instructs you to do something, you do it and ask questions later. Could be
he/she knows there is an incoming missile guided by your RF, and killing the
carrier could cause the missile to go astray. Etc.

One man's opinion, etc. Regards/J.

whim of a FCC inspector -- only when it is shown that continuing operation
is "harmful" such as "interfering with aircraft navigation or
