Mike: Completely agree. And, that's why I often look askance at high-end
products when low- to medium-quality/price ones will do. A Chevy will haul
sacks of peat moss or ready crete in the trunk just as well as a Mercedes,
for a whole lot less loot to boot. Agree with your propensity to by
multiples, also, particularly if they're on sale. Grab a bunch, put one in
service and the others in the closet until the lightning storm kills the one
in service, then just swap in the spare cable-for-cable and be the Hero of
the Day for getting the show back on the radio in record time. As for
'refurbs' they are usually factory tested to factory specs So long as they
work to spec when you unpack the box, that's all you can expect -- just like
refurbed Western Digital harddrives, etc.
