 Patent trolls, can serve a purpose in legitimate protection of
 intellectual property.
 Much like hiring an attorney when you've been truly harmed in
 some significant way, they can protect the interests of the innocent
 against unfair exploitation.
 The service that the very few provide, is to make one aware when
 one has been infringed in a legitimate way.

 Unfortunately, most are ambulance chasing lawyers, merely
 seeking to enrich themselves at anyone else's expense, they
 care not who.
 And, we're back to the lawyer thing again. 
 Get rid of lawyers, and there would be no patent trolls.
