Hey, Cowboy, thanks for the info, and good to meet you! That must have been
a very interesting station integration task. The tale of the fire in the
ATU is a classic. Who would have guessed something like that would happen?
And you lose 3 KW in that array? I've heard of a small percentage increase
in TPO for losses in directional systems, but that delta is huge!

With the passage of time, recollections of people and names fade. Irv Ross
was CE when I worked for Triangle Publications which included WFIL AM, FM,
and TV. Newspaper magnate Walter Annenberg owned Triangle, which included
the Phila Inquirer. Walter would show-up at the studios occasionally and
literally pull 'white glove' inspections, including wiping the dust from the
tops of the racks then racking someone's butt for running a dirty ship!
Walter was appointed Ambassador to the Court of St. James by Nixon, I
believe, and thereafter disappeared from regular station visits after that.
He endowed the Annenberg Schools of Journalism around the country, too.
Quite a gentleman he was.

Irv was big in aircraft radio installations. Bob Hoy rebuilt the studios of
WHAT & WWDB-FM, down the street at 3937 Conshohocken Aves when they were
owned by William and Dolly Banks (that's were the WDB came from in WWDB).
My first job in radio in high school was with Bob. Guess he's just my
memory now. If anybody out there knows where Bob Hoy is, I'd appreciate
hearing from you.

I heard the old 'round house' studio complex across from Channel 10 was
replaced by a newer building now. Where is it located? One of your
projects? In my day there, we hated those curved walls because nothing
rectilinear like racks fit neatly into the corners.

Regards/Jim
