Unable to get through to Trilithic support until this AM, I spent many hours
trying to get the system to work. The short version of a long story comes
down to two problems:
1. The software disk for the EASyCap had damaged files for the
necessary .NET 4.0 installation.
2. The off-the-shelf hardware ships with a static IP in the 10.1.xx.xx
subnet which is not compatible with our 192.168.1.xx LAN. Even though
connected via RS232 comm port, the Trilithic configuration software does not
install the proper static IP in the EASyCast. You must do this by changing
the properties of your computer temporarily to give it access to the
10.1.xx.xx subnet, connect to the NIC's static IP (listed in the
configuration file it you display it), and then the Trilithic EASyCast
software will change the static IP successfully.
Hope this is useful to anyone else with a similar problem. By the way, none
of the EASyCAP logs will show errors in this situation - it just doesn't
work!
