[BC] Repacking the TV band

Two problems which have most likely been mentioned:

1. Stations running less power (most likely) than when they were analog

2. Receiver sensitivity sucks.

Now where I am I get some channels (digitally) than prior to the transition. This most likely is due to pretransition patterns and power requirements as well as channel assignments.

I agree analog you can watch a marginal signal but digital is yeah or nay.

I'm using an electronically tuned antenna as I have it in my attic and I have visibility to three tv markets. It is a royal pita to rotate the antenna to pick up signals. I have been a directv subscriber since living in Florida (now outside reading, pa) but they're not carrying certain hd streams and force a puky SD rendition.

I do prefer digital since you get no more ghosting and other artifacts from the analog era but some stations in analog sent out a crappy signal and didn't it won't upgrade their plants. SD in digital can still look good.

Our cable company, service electric, has a beautiful headend as I got a tour of it when I picked up a beta modem (beta tested their 50m Internet) and they have fiber going everywhere as well as to stations and they originate ATSC at their plant. But they don't originate all the sun channels at this time.

I think lo-v should go away and power should be increased.

OTA can work but it's not necessarily as simple in the old days.
