wait wait wait - who was at WEAM in 72' ? I missed the comment.

I spent a year there as chief in either 72-73 (I think I'm blocking it for
mental self-protection) - I follow the famous Ed Buterbaugh of CKLW/WJR fame
into that crazy hell hole, Ed interviewed me for the job, along with the GM,
Harry Averill - I lasted a year - which was longer than most of the staff.
Harry ask me to stay - I said thank you no.

Shades of my misspent youth at WHAT 1340 Philadelphia in the early 1960s.
We bought the new Gates Solid Statesman, cranked it up, and referred to it
as the 'Distortion-max'.  After a week or so, we disabled that damned relay
since it didn't seem to do anything audible.  Thanks for the memories, every
30 minute readings and all!

PS:  We caught the overnight guy pre-filling all the readings for his shift.
Fired his butt immediately.
