 Unfortunately, Murphy's engineering maxim #10 may apply..

 When two choices are available, it is frequently better to pick
 the obviously inferior choice, as it expedites subsequent revision.

 Perhaps a fluke Arbitron rating showing an HD that obviously
 no one listens to except that one receiver, may expedite
 a real fix for the "problem."
