Not this again.  KCBS, aka KQW, aka San Jose Calling predates them all as the first broadcast station, launching in April 1909.

How many firsts?  The first to use radio for broadcasting rather than narrowcasting (ship-to-shore); the first DJ show; the first sponsor (a music store that provided records to the station); the first female DJ (Sybil True, Charles Herrold's wife)...
