Frank, while I do miss the Broadcasting Yearbook, it wasn't perfect.  
Sad to say, it had a number of historical errors, submitted by radio 
stations that did not know their own history-- Broadcasting only arrived 
on the scene in 1931, so the early years (first decade) are not exactly 
accurate, and when they finally began to compile the annual yearbooks, 
they had to rely on the memories (or the records) of the station 
personnel who sent them the forms.  A long story for another time.  But 
yes, KQV and Boston's own pioneering station 1XE (later WGI) were on the 
air long before KDKA.
