As has been suggested, perhaps we should slow down on Leonard.

But, I have been toying around with whether or not to post this and
finally decided to go for it.

In the mid 80s Leonard brought out an inexpensive version of his
olde original SymmetraPeak. It may very well have been OK, but
it was obviously not a built-like-a-battleship device like the original.
This one was a relatively small unit. I didn't know what steps were
taken to make it much smaller, less expensive.

I decided to call him up. I asked him if it was similar electrically to
his original unit. He said, and I think this is a quote, "It is a very
complex thing." I asked him what he had done to make the thing
much smaller and less expensive. Notice I am deliberately avoiding
the use of the word "cheap" here; this is because it might very well
have been a real jewel, not junk. I was simply inquiring. I was very
polite; I had no reason to act otherwise.

For some reason he launched off on a tirade about how people
didn't understand him, how he had been cheated, and on and on.
I waited for a break in all this and then said - very calmly and politely -
"I don't have to listen to this." He asked why not and I said (again
very calmly) "Because I don't have to."

He hung up on me.

At that point a couple of co-workers noticed the grin on my face and
inquired about what had just gone on. I explained that I had been
hung up on by The Great One.
