Rob: Well dog my cats! That is very enlightening. Akin to the early days
of radio in some major cities where department store owners like Gimbel
Brothers Department Stores and Lit Brothers started AM stations like WIP and
WFIL for the purpose of selling radios in their stores! History repeats
itself, albeit with later technology.
PS: "Older TVs" calls to my mind CRTs in wooden cabinets with 5Y3GT
rectifiers mounted atop the power transformer, flybacks, and lots of 6AU6s!
No stereo back then, just a 4" speaker mounted on the side.
Thanks/Regards/J
>....Most major sports events including golf and NASCAR are broadcast in
5.1 surround sound. Dual microphones would not be found because the extra
sound sources are ambiance. Announce is almost always center channel.
>The 5.1 is down mixed to stereo to be backward compatible with older TVs.
