It may be just me, my three HD TV set or my cable Company...But I have noticed what I assume is the multichannel mix having the TV mono audio from commentators buried in crowd and side line noise.
 
I have noted in same case that audio mix is better when I switch back to the analog channel vs the HD Channel.
