[BC] Transmission is more than just 50 kW

The Vangaurd was a good theory, but solid state devices of the time were not up to the job. I worked many of the when working for Harris field service. Could make 1,100 watts TPO with out too much sweat and have decent audio. BUT; the out put drifted. Spec was +- 1 dB. That's a lot of movement!  Most ran with the drawer pulled out ( to cool it). One guy in WI plumbed a pipe from the blower to cool his exciter so he could close the drawer. Real power measured with a good Bruges load and stations ammeter.
