Lots of good suggestions already to remove your problem. I have found Malwarebytes to be effective.

When it comes to preventing hijacking in the future, I have found this to be fully effective...I learned about it on this list several years ago:

http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

Using an "enhanced" HOSTS file prevents any malware tags/URL's embedded in websites from loading into your browser. It also remove tons of advertising from websites. The only downside to this is that it also prevents you from loading Google ad URL's that usually appear at the top of a search. But, you can edit the HOSTS file to allow that, if you want.

I have put this on at least a dozen machines, and have never had a problem since with any of them picking up a "drive-by" infection. Also, using Firefox helps a lot.

A few days ago I got a popup telling me that I had several harmful malware issues that needed to be corrected. When I clicked on the button to repair these issues it asked for my credit card information and said it would take $59.95 to download the removal software. I backed out of that but It still presented me with the warning. I found Microsoft Security Essentials had been disabled and I couldn't access any other sites on the internet. Finally I rebooted into Safe Mode and went to my last system restore point to return to normalcy.
