I've been using Bit Defender Internet Security 2012. It seems to do a good job. The firewall was detecting and blocking a number of port scans and it does block malicious pages. Auto update in the background. I chose it based on reviews a couple of years ago. Just after I renewed the 2010 version, 2011 was released. They gave me a free upgrade and did the same with 2012.
