CCleaner is the pnly only only registry cleaner I recommend.  Most of the rest are garbage, designed by people who thought they knew what they were doing.  

Microsoft Security Essentials is available free from the Microsoft website under the Security menu.  I like it better than McAfee, Norton, any of those.
